Why Our Paris Trip is a Tradition at the International School of Orange County

At the International School of Orange County, we believe that travel plays an important role in a student's education. That's why we have made it a tradition for our 5th and 6th graders to go on a Paris trip every year. This isn't just any trip, though. It's the trip that our students look forward to from the moment they enter our school. In this blog post, we'll tell you why our Paris trip is so special and why we believe it's an essential part of a student's education.

1. Exposure to a Different Culture

One of the main reasons why we organize this trip is to expose our students to a different culture. Paris is a beautiful city with a rich history and culture that dates back centuries. Our students get to experience this firsthand when they visit the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, and the Notre Dame Cathedral. They also get to explore the city's streets and interact with locals, which helps them to appreciate and understand different cultures. This exposure helps them to develop a global perspective that will serve them well throughout their lives.

2. Learning New Experiences and Developing Life Skills

On our Paris trip, our students get to experience things they may not have experienced before, like going on a boat ride on the Seine River, or trying a new dish they've never tasted before. They learn how to navigate a new environment, communicate in a different language, and work collaboratively in a team. These skills will serve them well in life, no matter what career path they choose.

3. Creating Unforgettable Memories

Our Paris trip is an unforgettable experience that our students will treasure for their entire lives. They get to share this experience with their friends and teachers, which creates bonds that last long after the trip is over. They get to take lots of photos, buy souvenirs, and keep journals or scrapbooks. These memories will stay with them forever and serve as a reminder of how much they learned and experienced on their trip.

4. Experiencing French Cuisine

Lastly, but definitely not least, our students get to experience the wonder that is French cuisine. They get to try croissants, baguettes, macarons, crème brûlée, and many other delicious French foods. This gives them a chance to broaden their palate and appreciate new flavors. It also promotes a healthy and well-rounded attitude towards different types of food.

In conclusion, our Paris trip is an essential part of our curriculum at the International School of Orange County. We believe that it exposes our students to new cultures, teaches them new skills, creates unforgettable memories, and connects them to the world in a profound way. We are proud to continue this tradition and look forward to creating new life long memories for our future students.
